TAPS Committee Reviews IGA Amendment for Box Elder Creek Flood Protection Project to Incorporate New Funding

The TAPS Committee is considering an amendment to the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between CDOT and the City of Aurora for the Box Elder Creek roadway erosion and flood protection project. The amendment is necessary to incorporate $500,000 in congressionally directed spending, which requires a $125,000 local match funded by COA maintenance funds. The original PROTECT grant of $10.8 million with a $3.5 million local match remains unchanged. The committee is asked to approve the resolution and IGA to skip study session and reconsideration to meet the mid-July deadline for executing the IGA and securing the federal funding.
