Council Praises Flood Mitigation Efforts

Brewer Liquor License Regulations Updated in City Code
The city amended chapter 5 of the city code to clarify and update brewer liquor licenses. The amendments aim to be more inclusive by eliminating the term 'growler' and encompassing brewer taprooms, brewer pubs, and small brewers. Additionally, the language was revised to include offsale and Sunday offsale licenses. The ordinance carries with unanimous approval.
Community Group Thanks City Staff for Support Despite Weather Challenges

City Code Updated for Special Assessments and Renumbering
The city amended section 2.71 of the city code regarding special assessments and renumbered related sections. The amendment moves section 2.71 from 'Personnel' to 'City Code Chapter 18'. It also extends the period for accepting partial prepayments for assessments until October 31st of the year the assessment role is adopted, removing the previous 30-day limit. Additionally, section 6 (specifically 2.76) was renumbered to 2.74 as a clerical correction. The ordinance carries with unanimous approval.
Austin Enhancement Group Recognized for Community Event Contributions
The Austin Enhancement Group, a small group responsible for numerous community events including Christmas in the City and the Fourth of July celebration, was extensively thanked by council members. The group's efforts were recognized for making events successful despite challenges like weather.
