Azusa City Council Convenes for Regular Meeting, Including Closed Session and Ceremonial Presentations
The regular meeting of the City Council, successor agency to the former redevelopment agency, and the public financing authority of the city of Azusa convened on Monday, July 1, at 4:27 p.m. The agenda included closed session items for conference with real property negotiators regarding property at 250 East Foothill Boulevard, and public employee performance evaluation for the City Manager and City Attorney. Public comment was opened for these closed session items only, with a five-minute speaking period for each participant. The meeting was then adjourned to closed session, with the council expected to reconvene at 7:30 p.m. for the remainder of the meeting. The council later reconvened for its regular meeting, commencing with a roll call, flag salute, invocation, and closed session report by the city attorney. A ceremonial presentation of a certificate of recognition was made to Regina Sells-Arnold, Azusa City Library Adult Education and Literacy Coordinator, for her 48th Assembly District 2026 Distinguished Women of the Year Award. This was followed by other ceremonial items before moving into public participation.
