Beverly Hills City Council Installs New Members, Reelects Mayor and Vice Mayor, and Declares Election Results

The Beverly Hills City Council held its regular meeting on July 7th, 2026, which included the installation of newly elected council members, the election of the mayor and vice mayor, and declarations of election results. Council member Sharona Nazarian and Lester Friedman were reelected, and Rebecca Pynoos was installed as a new council member. Howard S. Fisher was reelected as city treasurer. Mayor Craig A. Corman and Vice Mayor Mary Wells were reelected to their positions. The meeting also featured public comments and a video honoring outgoing council member Jon Mirisch, who completed 17 years and 3 months of service. The election for the city council seats saw 11 candidates contesting for three open seats, with Nazarian receiving 6,594 votes, Friedman receiving 3,607 votes, and Pynoos joining as the newest member. The voter turnout for the municipal election was nearly 50%, an increase from the 40% turnout in 2022.
