The City Council approved the resolution to apply for the Connecticut Department of Public Health per capita grant for the fiscal period of July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. Jeffrey Harold Reappointed to Danbury Museum and Historical Society Authority
Jeffrey Harold was reappointed as a full member of the Danbury Museum and Historical Society Authority. City Approves Application for $2 Million Grant for PFAS Water Treatment Upgrades
The City Council approved a resolution to apply for State Department of Public Health drinking water state-revolving funds to help subsidize the cost of the Kenosha Well Field PCE and PFAS treatment upgrades. The program will provide a $2 million grant, with the remaining project costs of $5.6 million to be funded by a 20-year loan at a 2% interest rate. The total estimated project cost is $7.6 million. The resolution authorizes a specific person to file the application and execute the funding agreement.
Franklin Street Extension Project Faces Delays Due to Storm Damage; Drainage Improvements Show Success
Director of Public Works Antonio Adarola provided an update on the Franklin Street Extension project, noting that while the project was ahead of schedule, recent storm damage has caused delays. The contractor is working to dry out the site and resume work on the gas main installation. The project's completion is critical to restoring traffic flow, with a goal to have the bridge substantially complete before the school year begins, potentially opening northbound traffic sooner. Adarola also confirmed that drainage improvements made previously to Memorial Way have proven effective in preventing flooding during heavy rains.
