Freehold Borough Unveils Veteran Recognition Sign for Robert Guy

The borough held a ceremony to recognize Robert Guy, a veteran and dedicated community member, by unveiling a veteran recognition sign in his honor. The program aims to acknowledge veterans who have served the country and are integral parts of the community. Robert Guy's military service included basic training and jump school at Fort Bragg, assignment to the 82nd Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge, and specialized training at the Army Signal Corps. After his service, he returned to Freehold, worked for Jersey Central Power and Light for 37 years, and was deeply involved in the Freehold Fire Department for over 50 years, serving as fire chief. He also contributed as a special police officer, a Freemason, a Shriner, and a leader in youth athletics with the Bay Group, and was a deacon at the First Baptist Church. The ceremony highlighted his significant contributions and the importance of the veteran recognition program.
