Racetrack Stores Granted Approval to Sell Wine in Gallatin
The City Council approved two applications from Racetrack stores to sell wine in their retail locations. One location is at 943 Greenley Boulevard and the other is at 1326 Nashville Pike. Both locations met city requirements regarding zoning and other criteria. The motion to approve passed with a vote of four in favor, three abstentions, and zero against.
Annexation of Property North of Round Tree Drive Approved with Water Service Clarification
Resolution R2605-41, adopting a plan of services for the annexation of a 129.84-acre parcel west of Brights Lane and north of Round Tree Drive, was amended to correct the water service details, similar to R2605-39. Castellian Springs was confirmed as the water provider. The resolution, as amended, passed with a vote of 6 to 1.
Gallatin City Council to Discuss IDD Guidelines and Application Process
Councilman Alexander requested discussion on adding guidelines for Individual Development Districts (IDDs) to the next work session agenda, noting that state law allows cities to set their own guidelines. He suggested implementing an application process requiring developers to cover all legal fees, making the process more contractual. The discussion was deferred to the July 28th work session due to the short timeline for preparation. Additionally, Councilman Carter expressed reservations about adding the IDD topic to the agenda, believing that department heads are already working with relevant parties and that adding it would unnecessarily prioritize it over other ongoing tasks.
Nexus Tennessee Development Rezoning and Master Plan Amendment Approved
The City Council conducted a second reading of Ordinance 02605-43, which involves rezoning 4.85 acres from R8 PRD (medium density planned residential) to MU (mixed-use) and 5.25 acres from MU (mixed-use) to PBP (planned business park). This ordinance pertains to the Nexus Tennessee development, located east of State Route 109 and north of Highway 25, and includes an amendment to its preliminary master development plan. The ordinance passed unanimously.
