Santa Teresa Fire Station Contract Awarded for $12.2 Million
The City Council considered awarding a contract to Zumwalt Construction Incorporated for the design, build, and construction services of the Santa Teresa Fire Station. The proposed contract amount is not to exceed $12,279,555, with a total project construction cost of $12,051,237 and a contingency of $228,318. The council also reviewed and approved budget amendments and authorized an interfund loan to accommodate the project costs. Additionally, a separate motion approved a budget amendment to appropriate funds, transfer amounts from other funds, and authorize a temporary interfund loan.
New Santa Teresa Fire Station Approved, Enhancing Public Safety
The City Council discussed and approved the construction of the Santa Teresa Fire Station. The project, awarded to Zumwalt Construction for approximately $12.2 million, includes design-build services for a 6,500 square foot facility. The station will house living quarters and emergency power provisions. The project aims to improve emergency response capabilities in the Santa Teresa area.
City Welcomes Largest Group of Summer Interns
The city introduced its largest group of summer interns for 2026, comprising individuals contributing to various city departments. The interns were presented to the council, highlighting their educational backgrounds and the departments they will be serving. Acknowledgment was given to Jason Davalos for spearheading the internship program and to the intern supervisors and managers for their mentorship.
