Glenpool Police Department Achieves Smaller Agency Accreditation
The Glenpool Police Department was awarded smaller agency accreditation by the Oklahoma Law Enforcement Accreditation Program. This is a significant achievement as only 10 out of 596 law enforcement agencies in Oklahoma have received this accreditation. The award recognizes the dedication, commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability of the department. Chief Jeremy Plane, Deputy Chief Matthew Graves, and Lieutenant Robert Glasby were presented with leadership awards.
Glenpool City Council Approves Settlement with Tyler Technologies
The City Council approved a settlement agreement with Tyler Technologies, resolving a dispute over software invoices. The dispute originated from a failed iPad implementation in police vehicles, where Tyler Technologies agreed to a $120,000 credit over five years. However, the city could not track how these credits were applied to annual invoices, leading to a dispute process. The settlement, facilitated by attorneys, wipes away the credits, applies them to past-due amounts, and allows the city to pay the remaining balance of approximately $85,000 for fiscal years up to June 30th, plus an additional $14,000 from a prior year. This agreement aims to resolve all outstanding issues and prevent further legal disputes.
Wastewater Treatment Plant Project Approves $2.4 Million Pay Application, Utilizes ARPA Funds
Pay Application 17 for the wastewater treatment plant improvements project was approved for $2.4 million, bringing the total amount paid to date to over $40 million. This payment fully utilizes the city's current ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) funds through OWRP (Oklahoma Water Resources Board). The project is progressing well, with construction expected to be completed by March 2027. The next phase will involve drawing funds from the clean water revolving loan process.
Wastewater Facility Project Update: On Schedule Despite Heavy Rains
The monthly update on the wastewater facility project was provided. The total cost to date for program management by S2 Engineering is $753,955.81. The total cost to date for professional engineering design by Gver is $3,424,322.7. The total construction cost to date for Crossland Heavy Contractors is $40,455,426.28. The project is on schedule for completion in March 2027. The report noted that the recent flash flooding did not significantly impact the project's progress, although some cleanup was required. The lagoon system held, and no overflow occurred.
Glenpool Establishes Film Production Permitting Process
The city is establishing a permitting process for motion pictures and television production to become an Oklahoma Film Friendly Community. Ordinance 838 creates this process, establishes fines for violations, and aims to attract film, television, and commercial production while ensuring local oversight and protection of city resources. Key points include a permitting process, coordinated review for public safety, exemption of low-impact activities, coverage of city-related costs by productions, and support for economic development and tourism. This is the first step in a multi-step process to achieve certification.
