Lewisburg Council Advances Rezoning Proposals for Light Industrial, Commercial, and Industrial Park Districts
The council heard public comments regarding the rezoning of the Globe Road property to Light Industrial. Residents Edith Eastep and Paul LeGrone spoke in favor of the rezoning to Light Industrial over another residential development, citing previous issues with infrastructure and oversight in past residential developments. They expressed confidence in the applicant, Mr. Humrick, based on his direct communication and willingness to make commitments. Additionally, the council approved the first reading of Ordinance 2611, rezoning about 113.5 acres at 1213 Globe Road from R1 low residential to I-2 Industrial Park. Finally, Ordinance 26-12, to rezone approximately 0.97 acres at 219 2nd Avenue South from I-1 Light Industrial to C2 Intermediate Commercial, was amended to correct a typo from I-2 to I-1 and then approved on its first reading.
