The cost is estimated at $17,414 annually, which is slightly higher than the current system's direct costs but offers significant savings by eliminating extra charges for late or incorrect timesheets and reducing the extensive time staff currently spend on payroll. The system will include seven time clock stations to be installed across various town facilities to improve efficiency and accuracy for all employees, including those in departments with complex shift differentials like the police department.
Town Reinforces Fireworks Ban and Addresses Security Camera Installation Delays
The town is reminding residents that setting off fireworks, even those legally purchased in other states, is illegal in New York State without a license and specifically in the town of Lloyd without prior permission from the town board. The town has a 'no bang fireworks' policy. A handout detailing the potential dangers of fireworks was shared, emphasizing that 'bang' fireworks are banned due to inherent risks. There was also a discussion regarding the installation of security cameras, with cameras purchased last year still awaiting installation due to delays in internet line drops at the intended locations. The town is working with the internet supplier to get these lines installed so the cameras can be operational.
Town Continues Review of Heavy Industry Zoning and Cement Plant Application
The town is continuing to review a potential zoning amendment, specifically regarding the definition of 'heavy industry.' Community members have submitted a memo with relevant information, and the town is evaluating these definitions in conjunction with information from the 'Clemente project.' A timeline is being established, with a goal to present findings mid-month, though finalization may extend to the next meeting. Additionally, there is ongoing discussion and information gathering for the 'cement plan' zoning application, including awaiting elevations, a sound study, and a traffic report from the applicant.
