Township Manager Authorized to Sign PennDOT Signal Plan for Brownsville Road Crosswalk
The board authorized the township manager to sign the PennDOT signal plan for the Brownsville Road crosswalk project. This administrative item is necessary to finalize the HOP permit for the pedestrian crossing. The permit is in hand, and PennDOT requires the signed signal plan. A two-part motion was passed: first, to amend the agenda to add this item, and second, to authorize the manager to sign the plan.
Board Approves Final Administrative Raises and Car Allowance
The board finalized raises for administrative staff, initiated earlier in the year. The motion approved a 1.25% increase for the Human Resource Director, Recreation Director, Executive Assistant to the Manager, Finance Director, and Public Works Director. The Township Manager received a 1.75% increase. All raises are retroactive to November 26th. Additionally, the Public Works Director will receive a $250 monthly car allowance starting in August. The motion to approve these raises and the car allowance passed.
Board Authorizes Advertising for 2026 Road Paving Program
The board is seeking authorization to advertise the 2026 road paving program, which includes nine roads for the base contract and four additional roads as alternates. The base contract covers roads such as Arrowhead Drive, North Center Road, Hazel Avenue, Hilton Avenue, Woodside Avenue, Crescent Avenue, Hilltop Road, Skyline Drive, and Fifth Street. Alternate roads include Second Street and Summit Avenue (alternate 1), and Village Drive and Stream Ridge Lane (alternate 2). The motion to authorize advertising passed.
Resident Complains of Property Damage, Criticizes Solicitor; Board Urges Professional Conduct
A resident, Clinton Stevens, voiced strong complaints regarding an individual named Micellia, alleging victimization and property destruction. Stevens criticized the solicitor's perceived inaction and questioned their effectiveness. The board chairperson and another supervisor addressed Mr. Stevens' tone and behavior, urging him to speak professionally and refrain from accusations. Stevens expressed frustration over not receiving answers to his questions and not having evidence he presented reviewed. The discussion also involved accusations of corruption and dishonesty directed at 'Mike'.
E-bike Enforcement Continues; Community Day and Concerts Planned
The board discussed current enforcement efforts regarding e-bikes, with the chief reporting that enforcement has been ongoing. The police department will continue these efforts. Additionally, discussions touched upon promoting community day, scheduled for September 26th at Russell Elliot Park, and a free concert at Veterans Park, as well as a food truck rally at Playwicki Farm.
