She expressed concern that a gentleman was still placing flowers in the hay lot and seemed unaware that he would have to vacate the area. Druin wanted to ensure the individual had been informed to avoid embarrassment when tractors are used shortly.

Rogers Pilant raised concerns about a pattern of major decisions being made in Middletown without adequate public communication, commission review, or timely council notification. He cited two examples: a meeting with Wesleyan University students about financial impacts and potential contributions, and the issuance of a commercial license for activity on the Guida Farm Conservation Area. Pilant stated that the council and the public are being left uninformed and requested a public update on the Wesleyan meeting, a full explanation of the process for the Guida Farm approval, and a reaffirmation that department heads must follow established processes and communicate with commissions and the council.
