Milford Corporate Center Marketing Efforts Intensify; Information Session Planned

The report on economic development and community engagement highlighted continued interest in the Milford Corporate Center. The city received additional assistance, enabling Emory Hill to market over 75% of phase one of the corporate center, with infrastructure work underway. A digital sign board has been placed on Route 1 South for marketing, and additional signs and marketing efforts are in progress. An information session with Emory Hill is planned for the August council workshop.

HR Focuses on Onboarding and Financial Wellness Workshops for Employees

Director Jamesha reported on human resources activities, focusing on onboarding new hires and upcoming employee workshops. A personal budgeting workshop, 'Where Is Your Money Going?', in partnership with Stand By Me, will be offered in August to help employees manage savings effectively following recent salary increases. This is a new partnership for the municipality.

Carlisle Fire Company Responds to 67 Fire Incidents and 510 EMS Calls in June

Chief Fountain provided an update on the Carlisle Fire Company's June activity. The company responded to 67 fire alarms/incidents (40 within city, 27 outside) and 510 EMS runs (393 within city, 117 outside). Top fire alarms included 18 automatic fire alarms and 18 motor vehicle collisions. Year-to-date, they had 446 calls. EMS response times averaged under two minutes for 84% of emergencies. There were five cardiac arrests with three documented saves. Renovations have started at the main campus EMS quarters. The auxiliary station on Route 36 has improved response times significantly, cutting them by nearly half in some areas.

Parks and Recreation Department Welcomes Intern Jacob Welch; Online Engagement Soars

Brad Veney's report, read by Mr. Rick, introduced Jacob Welch, the Parks and Recreation department's second intern, who started on May 18th. Jacob is responsible for daily operations and growing the department's online presence. He has a personal connection to the program, having participated since childhood and volunteered as a coach. In just 18 days, Jacob increased online views by 765%, reaching over 111,000 views. His goal is to make a lasting impact on the community.

City Issues 146 New Dwelling Permits in First Half of 2026; Comprehensive Plan Update Workshop Scheduled

Director Pierce reported that in the first half of 2026, the city issued 146 new dwelling construction permits: 72 apartments, 24 condominiums, 6 townhouses, and 44 single-family detached dwellings. The Planning Commission will review one site plan and hold a workshop for the comprehensive plan update. The Board of Adjustment reviewed three applications. The report also includes statistics on permits issued, inspections performed, and code violations.
