Workman's Comp Audit Clean, Municipal Audit Delayed by Unclaimed Funds; Historical Item Valuation and Water Bill Issues Discussed

The workman's comp audit has been completed and returned clean, with the results forwarded to the insurance company for processing coverage changes. A discussion ensued regarding the historical items stored in the building to ensure they are adequately covered for their value, with a recommendation for Terry Matthews, Carl Shaw, and Gaspel to compile a list and cost value of these items for proper insurance coverage. The municipal audit has been delayed due to two unreceived checks from the LEA, totaling $7,132 and $6,665.10. During the process of tracking these missing checks, it was discovered that the $7,000 check had been sent to unclaimed money. Further investigation found five items totaling approximately $9,000 in unclaimed funds for Mount Howard Fire District number one. To prevent future issues with unreceived funds, an automatic deposit system will be implemented, requiring a signer on the account. The municipal audit was further held up as the required money from the LEA needed to be included. The auditor, Skip, will be present at the next meeting, and a suggestion was made to reschedule the meeting to the middle of the next month, specifically July 15th, to allow for the audit's approval. An issue with the New Jersey American Water bill was also raised, as invoices do not clearly state what is being paid for, and charges per hydrant should result in consistent monthly amounts. The question of whether the historical items are covered for their actual historical value, as opposed to just contents, is being investigated.
