City Council Approves Ordinance Amending Lifeguard and Residency Restrictions

The Planning Board recommended approval with the condition of safety fencing along Panama City Beach Parkway. The applicant, represented by McNeil Carroll Engineering, addressed concerns regarding noise, lighting, potential exit to Aaron Bessette Park, and stormwater management, emphasizing adequate parking and the use of electric karts. The council ultimately approved the application with the added condition that only electric, non-gas-powered carts be used.

The City Council approved an agreement with Southern Construction Service Inc. for the Conservation Park boardwalk rehabilitation project. The approved amount for the project is not to exceed $1,250,000.
