These include four police vehicles, a building department vehicle, two Dodge Ram pickup trucks, a compactor truck, a garbage truck, and an air compressor. The financing will be managed through the renewal of a bond anticipation note from the previous year, adding the new purchase amount to the existing borrowing. The estimated interest rate for leasing is 4.53%, or 3.75% if financed through the August bond renewal, making the latter the more economical option.
Peekskill City Council Approves Multiple Resolutions for Community Programs, Infrastructure, and Public Services
The City Council approved five resolutions authorizing financial transactions. Additionally, an agreement with Westchester County for community events and a public hearing for amendments to bicycle and inline skate regulations were approved.
Peekskill Establishes Resident Advisory and Comprehensive Planning Committees for City's Future Development
The city is seeking to establish a Resident Advisory Committee and a Comprehensive Planning Committee to aid in the development of the city's Comprehensive Plan. The Resident Advisory Committee will be a diverse group of residents providing lived experience and local knowledge, while the Steering Committee will consist of appointed staff and officials providing technical guidance and policy alignment. The plan will involve public engagement through visioning workshops, housing workshops, transportation audits, surveys, pop-up events, and a newsletter. Community ambassadors are also being recruited to facilitate conversations within their communities.
