Rolesville Board Meeting - July 21, 2026

Rezoning for 76 Townhomes and Commercial Space at 1101 A Road Continued for Further Discussion
The board considered a rezoning request for a 16-acre property at 1101 A Road, currently zoned Residential Medium Conditional Zoning District. The applicant, Lock 7 Development, proposed rezoning to Residential High Density Conditional Zoning District and General Commercial Conditional Zoning District to allow for 76 single-family attached dwelling units (townhomes) and approximately 1.5 acres of commercial development. The proposal includes a pollinator garden, a greenway connection, and a $25,000 contribution to an affordable housing fund. Several residents voiced concerns about increased traffic, safety, the lack of immediate commercial development, and the potential for the residential easement to become a cut-through. The church owning the property also spoke in favor, stating the sale would allow them to purchase a new facility. The board voted 3-2 to continue the hearing to September 1st to allow for further discussion on connectivity and other conditions.
