The project includes three six-story buildings with 318 units, incorporating affordable workforce housing and requesting a parking waiver. The annexation and related land use and zoning changes passed unanimously. The site plan and parking waiver vote are scheduled for July 20th.

Mayor Launches Resident-Led Coalition for Downtown Master Plan Update
Mayor James announced an initiative to create a resident-led community coalition focused on the downtown master plan update. This initiative stems from recent community engagement and aims to foster a collaborative partnership between residents and city government. The coalition will have access to planning information and experts to ensure informed discussions. The mayor also announced that the downtown master plan update would be pulled from the upcoming DAC meeting to allow more time for this collaborative process, emphasizing transparency and inclusivity. Six-Month Zoning Pause Implemented for South Flagler Drive Corridor
The city commission considered Ordinance Number 5177-26, a city-initiated request for a zoning in progress for six months on properties zoned multifamily high-density MF32 along South Flagler Drive. This temporary measure is intended to prevent new plan development applications while the city conducts a zoning analysis, redevelopment study, and economic analysis for the area to develop new zoning regulations. The ordinance passed unanimously.
City Commission Approves Revised Public Art Program
The city commission held a public hearing and second reading for Ordinance Number 5172-26, which amends and restates the public art program. The ordinance relocates provisions concerning monuments and murals and creates a new chapter for public art in the city code. The ordinance passed unanimously.
